Hello,
My name is Sharon and I had this procedure done back in June. I spent over $
3,000 to have this done. All I can say is that I made a very big mistake. All
they did was super glued a wig to my head. It didn't look nothing like the
brochure. I couldn't believe my eyes. After one month plugs of hair begin to
fall out I looked more like a cancer patient. I called the corporation
complaining because in the contract It stated that I had 90 days to have it done
to my liken. But when I called them they gave me the run around stating that I
had to go to another facility to have it redone. They told me that they would
send the new unit to the facility. One month from that time they still did not
send me the new unit. I called them again more excuses , customer service told
me that the new unit would take eight week to get there then later they told me
that the mailing address got mixed up.
Just four days ago I called them again
and a woman took my home address down and said that the unit would be mailed to
me and I should receive it in 5-7 business days. If I really do receive the hair
don't know now if I want the procedure done again or not. Because I'm uncertain
if it will be the same thing all over again. I hate to see my money go to waste
like that, but after seeing that this might be a scam I just don't know. How can
people get away with this. I just want something that will work. I've been
trying to find something for nine years. And this is not it.
After
waiting over 12 weeks in anticipation (that's how long they said it would take
for them to produce the strands of hair that were going to be lasered to my
scalp), making sacrifices to pay for this procedure and driving more than 23
hours roundtrip, I must state that I am thoroughly disgusted and aggravated. Not
only was I taken advantage of, I was completely misled. From the first time I
inquired about this procedure at Euro Development Center, I was told there would
be individual strands of hair lasered to my scalp. All of the brochures and
literature support that belief. When I arrived to have this procedure performed,
again, more of the same. It was not until I was taken upstairs after I paid that
I realized what was being done. There was never anything ever stated to me that
a weft of some kind with attached hair would be glued to my scalp. After
numerous conversations with Bob Ward (salesperson), I was told that I would have
these strands of hair lasered to my scalp without the hassle of weaves, wigs and
glues. Bob even went, as far as to state that I could pull my hair straight back
and it would be completely undetectable that I had a procedure done. This
procedure again, to ‘thicken’ my thinning hair and add hair where I had
previously had none, strand by strand. Bob also stated that I could watch this
procedure while it was being performed. This was one of the many lies. When they
took me upstairs I was not allowed to watch and I was told by the lady who was
doing my hair "Bob don't know what he's talking about. I do the procedure and
you cannot watch." She then proceeded to GLUE and SEW a hairpiece to my head!
Exactly the opposite and contradictorary to what I was told. After it was over,
I expressed my dissatisfaction and how I was lied to and she said "Well, I'm
covering myself. Write the president of the company because a lot of people have
gotten their money back. They tell customers one thing downstairs and when you
get up here it's totally different what we do." This lady, her name signed on my
receipt is L. Wilson.
I have had this problem of thinning hair over the
years and it has progressively gotten worse. It has been an issue that has
deeply effected my self-esteem. I have longed to go out and have the wind blow
through my hair and not have to worry about it. I have longed to be able to have
a night on the town and not have to worry that someone may know I’m wearing a
wig or glued in wefts of hair that may be exposed. What a disgusting experience
for me, to have this company manipulate and play my feelings. Not only did I pay
$3300.00, I spent gas money to drive over 23 hours, I spent money to stay in a
hotel AND I took valuable, unpaid time off from work to come and have this
procedure performed. I also held off having surgery performed to remove my
ovaries. Prior to this humiliating experience, I thought I would be able to go
into the hospital feeling confident about my hair. Up until now, I thought this
procedure would be the ‘light at the end of the rainbow’ and that I had
something to look forward to after my surgery. However, after leaving your
offices, I felt and feel nothing but anguish and vehement anger. I was suffering
from so much emotional turmoil that I did not attempt to approach this company
until I was able to get over the initial state of shock and disbelief.
I
am home now and I have had an entire 15 hours of driving time to think about
this and evaluate this situation. I am asking for a complete refund of the
$3300.00 that I paid to Euro Development Corporation for this misleading
service. I would also like some bottles of ‘inherent’ sent to me so I can
remove this hairpiece that was glued to my head. I do not intend to drive all
the way back to Philadelphia to have this removed. I feel this is the least I
can be compensated for after the emotional grief I have suffered by the
manipulation of this company. My main concern was the bald spots on my head. I
was told they would be completely filled in, not covered up. And even with this
hair piece you can still see the bald spots. Completely unsatisfactory and
unacceptable.
I have suffered emotionally, mentally, financially and
physically (with regards to my ovaries). Unnecessary stress can cause things to
develop and with me going into surgery of Friday to have a mass removed from my
ovaries, this doesn’t help. Taking advantage of people is wrong.

proceedure Nov. 1995/ I dealt a with male consultant. It may have been Robert
Pease. I can't validate his name this was seven yrs. ago. Cost of proceedure
$2200.00 Airfare, room & rental car about $500.00. Total amount $2700.00. I
believe I may have recieved a dicount toward airfair from U.M.S. I don't recall
exact amount. I initialy saw U.M.S. ad in a muscle building magazine. The ad
looked very impressive. Useing thier phone # I contacted the U.M.S. facility in
New Jersey and was put in touch thier male consultant. During the conversation I
asked him if this was a type of wig or hairpiece. He assured that it was not and
went into some technical jargon about dermal tension and how indvidual strands
of hair were attached to the scalp permantly with a new laser technology
available only at thier facility. This was a new inavation which evolved from
europe. His sales pitch was very convincing. The next step was for me to send a
sample of my hair and a photo of the top of my head to evaluate the extent of my
hair loss. I was contacted about a week later by same person and was informed by
him that thier facility could accommodate me. The price would be $2200.00. I
made an appointment and arrived at thier facility in New Jersey some time in
Nov./95. There I was greeted by same consultant who invited me to his office.
While I was seated there he went into his sales pitch while I viewed pictures of
previous clients and he assured me once again that this was not a hair piece but
a very unique process as forementioned. At this point I agreed to have it done
based on what he had told me. I was then taken to a room were the proceedure
would be performed. While seated there I signed consent forms and payed up front
before the proceedure began. I think I payed in cash. I was then introduced to a
female technician whom would perform the task. The whole process took 30 to 40
minutes to perform. In essence what I ended up with was a wig glued to my head
by means of shaving a bare strip around the perimeter of my scalp where it was
attached. If I wanted a wig I could have gone to a wig shop and obtained one for
a few hundred dollars. The hair piece did not look right it did not feel right
and the only goal it accomplished was to cause me much physical discomfort and
imbarresment. I eventially discarded it to its rightful place the garbage heap.
I feel that U.M.S. totally duped and misled me with their grossly misleading and
deceptive sales /advertising tactics. I experienced emotional pain and
economical loss as a result. I thank for bringing attention this.

The procedure was performed in the offices of Euro
Development in Philadelphia, on April 6, 2002 between the hours of 09:00 AM and
noon. The Euro Development agent who represented them to me was Bob Ward. The
cost of the procedure was $2300.00. Additional expenses incurred specific to the
procedure were:
• Airline Tickets - $396.50
• Airport Parking - $
18.00
• Shuttle Bus - $ 20.00
• Hotel - $242.04
• Baseball Cap* - $
25.00
• Tip to Stylist - $ 5.00
I went to Philadelphia believing -
based on the company's adds, Web Site, telephone discussions with Bob Ward, and
letters from Bob Ward - that I was going to undergo a revolutionary procedure
that would place individual hairs on my scalp only where they were needed,
providing an undetectable hairline and fill. I was assured several times by Bob
Ward that no hair on my head would be
cut, clipped, or shaved in any way.
During the procedure, the technician started clipping hair where the hairpiece
would be glued before she mentioned that she needed to do so. Moreover, I was
never shown the hairpiece prior to its installation, and I could not see the
procedure as it was taking place.
The hairpiece which was glued to my
head was so fake-looking that I had to buy a baseball cap* in Philadelphia just
to be seen in public. I have been forced to wear a cap in public ever since. By
Friday, April 12, the hairpiece had become so loose that I had to remove
it.
Today, my hair has a ring of lost hair due to the clipping and that
which was pulled out by the adhesive. As a result of this fact, and the
emotional trauma associated with the heartbreak of learning that Euro
Development's advertisments were untrue I am suffering from the
following:
• My self-confidence is severely undermined by the loss of
hair, and I am forced to wear a cap in public.
• I am unable to sleep at
night.
• My performance on my job is suffering as I am unable to
concentrate.
• My social life is severely impacted by my loathing of being
seen in public in this condition.
• I am suffering from loss of appetite and
have lost five pounds since
the procedure. I was already underweight.
•
The emotional trauma has resulted in a flare up of a chronic ulcer condition,
and has forced me to go back on medication.
• Because of my embarrasement, I
feel alienated from my children and grandchildren and have temporarily lost
their companionship.
• I have fallen into a deep depession and my life has
become totally devoid of joy.
